Sem Houmes is a mover, born in a small town in The Netherlands, and is now based in Amsterdam. He is constantly diving deeper into his own authentic style, but finds a home in contemporary and improvisation. Since 2 years, he started training electro dance as well, which enriches his dance even more.

He started dancing at the age of 9 years old and discovered contemporary. Then in 2021, he lived in the United States for a while, where he did a dance certificate program at a conservatory in California, but moved back to the Netherlands in 2022, to pursue a bachelor at the Amsterdam University of the Arts called “Expanded Contemporary Dance”.

In 2025 he launched Persona Collective together with three other dancers. A collective that combines club and street styles together with contemporary styles and bring this to life in the theatres.

Sem is now building up his professional career as a performing artist and is always looking for new ways to move his body and be inspired by his surroundings.
