Luca’s Journey.

Luca Tomasoni began his training in contemporary dance at the age of 18 at the Milano City Ballet school, directed by Roberto Altamura. After one year, he moved to Zurich, where he attended the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), graduating with a Bachelor of Contemporary Dance. During his academic years, he worked with internationally renowned choreographers including Martin Schläpfer, Jérôme Meyer and Isabelle Chaffaud, Richard Wherlock, Michael Schumacher, Lorand Zachar, and many others.

In 2015, he represented Martin Schläpfer, winner of the Swiss Dance Awards. In 2016, he began his professional career with Nanine Linning’s company at the Stadttheater Heidelberg in Germany.

Throughout his career, he has performed in Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, appearing on some of Europe’s most prestigious stages.

In 2020, he took part in La Biennale College under the artistic direction of Marie Chouinard. At the end of the programme, he performed as part of the opening of the 2020 Biennale Danza season, presenting works by Marie Chouinard, Xavier Le Roy, and Marco d’Agostin.

In 2021, he moved to Turin and began working with Balletto Teatro di Torino, under the artistic direction of Viola Scaglione. With the Turin-based company, he had the opportunity to work with numerous nationally and internationally acclaimed choreographers and artists, including SilviaGribaudi, Ella Rothschild, Manfredi Perego, Marta Ciappina, Alessio Maria Romano, Mauro de Candia, Antonin Rioche, and many others. He has also expanded his professional experience into television and other media, performing at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, as well as in advertising campaigns, TV series, and films.

From the 2026/27 season, Luca will join Komoco, directed by Sofia Nappi, as Rehearsal Director.
